APPRENTICE-FALCONER - The operator
Specializing in wildlife control since 1989, our
falconers work at airports, landfill sites, government agencies
as well as film and television production companies. We also have
educational, training and conservation programs and present free
flight bird shows every summer at the summit of Tremblant in the
Laurentians.
APPRENTICE-FALCONER - The activity
Accompanied by a falconer and a trained raptor
(a Harriss Hawk from the Southwestern US and Mexico), the
apprentice will get to experience first-hand the thrill of flying
a bird of prey and having it land on their glove. The falconer will
introduce the apprentice to the basics of falconry including:
The characteristics of birds of prey,
The historical and modern importance of falconry,
Falconry equipment,
Bird handling and free-flight.
Equipped with a glove, a falconry bag and food for
the hawk, each apprentice will call the raptor to his or her glove
several times. A must for animal lovers!
